Enable file access (cloud)

Enable file access (cloud)

Using file access, it is possible to access your own customer folder in the cloud. Thereby it is possible to access the data generated by ClassiX® or to upload or modify own files. For example, it is possible to download the database archive for backup purposes. The proprietary development in Pandora is only made possible by the file access.

File access is realised via the WebDAV protocol, which is widely used in applications. In Windows Explorer, for example, the customer directory can then be mounted as a network drive and used like any other drive.

Important: Since the customer directory is only created the first time an application is started, you must start any application once before activating file access.

Enable file access

File sharing can be enabled by an administrator in Administration. To do so, perform the following steps:

  1. Click on the Cloud Account item in the menu to open the processing of the customer account.
  2. Go to the Infrastructure tab.
  3. In the WebDAV group, select the check mark for File access enabled. If no password has been assigned yet, one will be generated automatically.
  4. You can change the password as desired.
  5. Click on Save below.

From this moment, file access is enabled and you can connect using the credentials specified in the WebDAV group.

Connect customer directory as network drive

The customer directory can be connected as a network drive to make it easier to work with. To do this, perform the following steps:

  1. In Windows Explorer, right-click on This PC in the left pane and then click on Connect Network Drive...
  2. In the dialog, enter the URL of the file share as the folder.
  3. If you want the network drive to remain connected after a restart, select the checkbox Restore connection on login.
  4. Click on Finish.
  5. In the following dialogue enter the access data of the file share and click OK.

After these steps the network drive is connected and a new window opens with the contents of the customer directory. Now the network drive can be used like any other drive.
